31 singers gathered online to Co-Vocalize for the first time on April 8, 2020. Dr. Julia Nielsen, a voice teacher in San Francisco, had gathered some of her students virtually to sing as a community while the Bay Area was sheltering in place.

What began as a service to her studio has become a new way for singers to be together, care for their voices, and learn new technical skills. Since then, over 600 singers from across the United States and on three other continents have gathered to Co-Vocalize.

The original Co-Vocalizing classes—two 30-minute vocal exercise routines each week—have always been free, and will remain free. If you would like to support our mission of offering singers these opportunities to exercise their voices together, please consider making a donation of any size. Your registration at paid Co-Vo classes also supports our ability to keep providing this free service to the classical singing community.
