Co-Vo Membership Terms
Updated: December 2025
At Co-Vo, our mission is to advance singers’ vocal health, fitness, and longevity through creative vocal exercise routines, expert coaching, and a community to practice with.
The Co-Vo Membership provides on-demand access to a rotating library of 30-minute vocal workouts, designed to build strength, flexibility, and endurance in the singing voice through regular guided practice. Members receive new workouts each week, taught by Dr. Julia Nielsen.
This document outlines what members can expect and how we deliver our membership services to you. If you are planning to join the Co-Vo Membership (“the Membership”) please read these terms and conditions in full prior to purchasing.
1. Membership Terms & Conditions (‘Terms’): Key Details
These Terms cannot be varied and by purchasing or accessing the Co-Vo Membership, you will be deemed to have accepted these Terms. The Terms set out below apply to the services offered by Dr. Julia Nielsen, operating as Co-Vo (“we”, “our” or “us) to you, as purchaser of the Membership. Please read them carefully, as they outline your legal rights and obligations as a member. These Terms are subject to all consumer protection laws to that may apply and that cannot be waived by contract.
Please be aware that we may update these Terms from time to time to reflect operational or legal changes. Your continued use of the Co-Vo Membership after such updates constitutes acceptance of the revised Terms.
2. Membership Outline
The Co-Vo Membership is an online platform providing on-demand access to a rotating library of 30-minute vocal workouts for classical singers. Each workout is designed to build strength, flexibility, coordination, and endurance in the singing voice through regular guided practice. The Membership is a month-to-month subscription that gives singers structured, ongoing access to these training resources.
The Co-Vo Membership is designed for adult classical singers—from dedicated amateurs to professionals—who want to maintain or enhance their vocal fitness through consistent, physiologically informed training. It is not intended as a substitute for private voice lessons, medical or therapeutic treatment, or beginner-level singing instruction.
3. Eligibility
The Co-Vo Membership is open to adult singers aged 18 and older who wish to strengthen and maintain their singing voice through regular guided exercise. Members should have some prior vocal experience—such as choral singing, voice lessons, or comparable training—sufficient to follow structured practice videos independently. The Membership is not intended for children or absolute beginners, and does not provide individualized instruction or medical evaluation.
4. Membership Specifics
The Co-Vo Membership includes access to the following:
i) A rotating library of a minimum of sixteen 30-minute guided vocal workouts, available on demand
ii) New workout uploads each week, created and taught by Dr. Julia Nielsen
iii) Monthly exercise sheets containing notation for ten of the most foundational exercises featured in the prior month’s workouts
On-Demand Workouts
All workouts are taught by Dr. Julia Nielsen, founder of Co-Vo and a professional voice teacher with over 25 years of experience training classical singers. Dr. Nielsen holds a Doctor of Music degree from Indiana University and currently serves as Professor of Vocal Physiology and Vocal Pedagogy at the San Francisco Conservatory of Music.
Workouts are available to members through the secure Co-Vo Member Area on Squarespace and can be accessed at any time for as long as membership remains active.
Each membership is for a single user and may not be shared.
Each workout provides structured vocal warm-ups and skill-building exercises focused on strength, flexibility, coordination, and range development, guided by clear, physiologically grounded instruction.
Instruction is based on Dr. Nielsen’s extensive experience as a classical voice teacher, performer, and pedagogy specialist, integrating both historical vocal practices and contemporary vocal science.
Each workout is a recording of a live 30-minute Co-Vo vocal workout led by Dr. Julia Nielsen. While Co-Vo is in session, two new recordings are added to the library each week, and the two oldest recordings are retired, maintaining a continuously updated rotating collection. The rotation schedule operates approximately 48 weeks per year, with short breaks during select holiday or vacation periods.
5. Behaviour
Members are expected to conduct themselves respectfully in all interactions related to Co-Vo, including correspondence, support inquiries, and any future community features associated with the Membership. Should a member’s behaviour be deemed offensive, disruptive, or inappropriate, we reserve the right to suspend or terminate their access to the Membership without refund.
Each member is responsible for their own actions and communication. Co-Vo and Dr. Julia Nielsen are not responsible for the behaviour, statements, or actions of any other members.
6. Membership Fees and Payment Terms
The cost of the Co-Vo Membership is $40 USD per month. Payment is processed securely through the Squarespace Member Areas platform using the supported payment processors Stripe and PayPal.
By subscribing, you authorize recurring monthly payments to be charged automatically to your chosen payment method on the same calendar day each month as your initial purchase. The Membership continues on a month-to-month basis until cancelled. You will receive an automatic receipt by email after each successful payment.
We reserve the right to adjust the Membership price in the future to reflect expanded features, platform fees, or operating costs. If any change to the monthly rate occurs, members will receive at least 28 days’ advance notice and may cancel before the new rate takes effect. No rate change will apply retroactively.
Because the Co-Vo Membership is delivered entirely online with no physical goods or in-person services, we believe that it is not subject to California sales tax under current law. Co-Vo operates from California, and all transactions are processed through our online platform in this jurisdiction. However, if your billing location requires sales or use tax on digital services or subscriptions, you are responsible for any tax due in your location. We reserve the right to adjust future pricing or billing procedures if tax laws change.
7. Refunds and Cancellation
It is our aim that you are fully satisfied with the Co-Vo Membership and that it supports your ongoing vocal health and training. However, we understand that members may wish to end their subscription at some point.
Because the Co-Vo Membership provides instant access to digital training materials, full access begins immediately upon purchase. For this reason, refunds are generally not available once payment has been processed and access has been granted. Please review the Membership description carefully before joining and contact us with any questions about suitability.
Members may cancel their recurring subscription at any time through their account page on the Co-Vo website. Upon cancellation, access to the Membership will continue through the end of the paid billing period, after which the subscription will not renew. No prorated refunds are issued for partial months or unused time.
No advance notice period is required; cancellation will take effect at the next billing cycle.
We reserve the right to suspend or discontinue the Co-Vo Membership for maintenance, platform changes, or other operational reasons. In such cases, any prepaid period extending beyond the closure date will be refunded in full.
We reserve the right to terminate a member’s access with immediate effect if
Payment is not received when due;
A member breaches these Terms or engages in conduct deemed inappropriate or disruptive; or
Continued membership is determined to be inconsistent with the Co-Vo community standards or purpose
8. Contact and Schedule
The Co-Vo Membership operates on a continuous, year-round basis, with new content added during approximately 48 weeks each year. During short, planned breaks (for holidays or professional obligations), no new workouts will be released, but members will retain full access to the existing workout library.
Members may contact Co-Vo by email at support@co-vo.com for questions regarding billing, access, or technical issues. Typical response time is 2–3 business days, excluding weekends and holidays.
For faster assistance, members are encouraged to include the word “Support” in the subject line when emailing about login or access issues.
9. Disclaimers

10. Limitation of Liability and Indemnification
To the fullest extent permitted by law, Dr. Julia Nielsen, operating as Co-Vo, shall not be liable for any direct, indirect, incidental, or consequential damages arising from the use of or inability to use the Membership. This includes, without limitation, any loss of data, income, or opportunity, even if we have been advised of the possibility of such damages.

Nothing in these Terms excludes or limits liability for death or personal injury caused by negligence, fraud, or any other liability that cannot lawfully be limited.
Members agree to indemnify and hold harmless Dr. Julia Nielsen and Co-Vo from any claims, damages, or expenses (including reasonable legal fees) arising out of the member’s use of the Membership, violation of these Terms, or infringement of any rights of a third party.
11. Privacy and Confidentiality
Your privacy and data protection are important to us. Co-Vo collects only the personal information necessary to manage your Membership—such as your name, email address, and payment details processed securely through Squarespace and its integrated payment providers. You are responsible for keeping your account information accurate and up to date.
All personal data is handled in accordance with our Privacy Policy, available at https://www.co-vo.com/privacy-policy. By purchasing or using the Membership, you consent to the collection and processing of your data as described in that policy.
Members agree to respect the confidentiality of any personal information shared within Co-Vo sessions or materials. If community features are added in the future, you must not disclose or distribute information shared by other members without their consent.
Any unauthorized disclosure of personal information belonging to another member may result in immediate termination of Membership. These confidentiality obligations remain in effect even after a member’s subscription ends.
Co-Vo workouts are streamed live and recorded for later on-demand access. Each session features instruction by Dr. Julia Nielsen, and at the end of each workout, participants are invited to unmute and greet one another. By joining a live session, members acknowledge and consent that their voice, name, or image may appear briefly in the recording. Participation on camera or microphone is always voluntary, and members who prefer not to appear may simply keep their camera and microphone off.
Your membership login credentials must remain private. You may not share your login with anyone else or allow another person to access the Membership using your account. If you suspect your account has been compromised, please reset your password and contact support@co-vo.com immediately.
12. Intellectual Property
During your Membership, you will have access to Co-Vo workout videos, exercise sheets, and related written or audiovisual materials (“the Materials”). All Materials are protected by copyright and remain the exclusive property of Dr. Julia Nielsen and Co-Vo. Members are granted a limited, non-transferable license to view and use these Materials for their own personal study and vocal practice only.
Members may not copy, download, record, redistribute, share, or post any part of the Materials online or elsewhere, whether for free or for sale. No portion of the Co-Vo Membership content may be used for teaching, publication, or other commercial purposes without prior written permission.
All rights, including copyright, remain reserved to Dr. Julia Nielsen and Co-Vo.
13. Professional Use, Intellectual Integrity, and Non-Compete
The Co-Vo Membership is designed for personal and educational use. Members—including singers, voice teachers, and choral conductors—are encouraged to apply the knowledge and techniques they gain through Co-Vo in their own singing, practice, and teaching.
All original Co-Vo workout sequences, recordings, exercise sheets, written explanations, and related materials remain the intellectual property of Dr. Julia Nielsen. Members may not copy, record, republish, or distribute these materials, in whole or in part, or present them as their own work.
Voice teachers, conductors, and other professionals may incorporate concepts or exercises learned through the Membership into their own instruction, provided they do so in their own words and methods, without reproducing or marketing Co-Vo content as original material, or distributing Co-Vo recordings or documents. Acknowledging Co-Vo as the source of inspiration is encouraged and appreciated.
Non-Solicitation: Members agree not to solicit, recruit, or market competing services to other Co-Vo members using contact information obtained through the Membership (including emails, chats, meeting attendance, or any member lists) during their active Membership and for six (6) months following cancellation or termination. This clause does not prohibit organic, non-commercial networking or artistic collaboration unrelated to offering competing training programs.
14. Force Majeure
While Co-Vo strives to deliver continuous and reliable access to Membership content, unforeseen circumstances may occasionally interrupt service. Co-Vo shall not be held liable or in breach of these Terms for delays, cancellations, or temporary interruptions arising from causes beyond our reasonable control. These causes may include, but are not limited to, illness, internet or platform outages, power failures, natural disasters, war, strikes, or government restrictions.
In such circumstances, Co-Vo will make reasonable efforts to resume normal operations as soon as possible and, where appropriate, to reschedule or replace affected content. Members will not be entitled to refunds or compensation for brief interruptions resulting from such events.
15. Waiver
If Co-Vo chooses not to enforce any part of these Terms at a given time, this does not mean that those rights are waived or that they cannot be enforced later. Any decision to extend leniency, such as granting a courtesy refund or exception, applies only to that specific instance and does not alter or limit Co-Vo’s rights under these Terms in the future.
16. Errors and Inaccuracies
While every effort is made to ensure that all information on the Co-Vo website and within the Membership is accurate and up to date, occasional typographical errors or inaccuracies may occur. Co-Vo reserves the right to correct or update such information at any time without prior notice, including errors related to descriptions, pricing, or scheduling.
17. Jurisdiction
These Terms and any dispute or claim arising out of or in connection with them shall be governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of the State of California, United States of America. Any legal action or proceeding relating to the Membership shall be brought exclusively in the state or federal courts located in San Francisco County, California, and by joining the Membership, you consent to the personal jurisdiction of those courts.
18. Complaints
Co-Vo aims to provide an exceptional experience for every member. Feedback is always welcome and helps us improve future offerings. If you have a concern or complaint about any aspect of the Membership, please submit it in writing to Dr. Julia Nielsen at support@co-vo.com. We will review your message and respond within 7–10 business days. All complaints are handled respectfully, and we are committed to resolving issues whenever reasonably possible.
19. General
These Terms constitute the entire agreement between you and Dr. Julia Nielsen, operating as Co-Vo, regarding the Membership and replace any prior communications or understandings related to it.
If any conflict arises between these Terms and the policies or procedures of the Squarespace platform or its payment processors (such as Stripe or PayPal), these Terms shall take precedence.
If any provision of these Terms is found to be invalid or unenforceable, the remaining provisions will remain in full effect. Where a portion of a clause can be removed to make it enforceable, that portion will be deleted and the remainder will continue to apply.
These Terms apply only between Co-Vo and the individual member. No third party has any right to enforce or rely on any provision within them.
Co-Vo may update these Terms periodically to reflect changes in law, platform requirements, or operational practice. When material updates are made, members will be notified by email or through the Membership site. Continued use of the Membership after such notice constitutes acceptance of the revised Terms.
