The Vibrato Checkup
Have you ever wondered about your vibrato?
Is it healthy? Is there too much or not enough? Is it too slow or fast, too wide or narrow, inconsistent, or simply non-existent?
Have you ever been told to “fix it,” “control it,” or “use less”…with no explanation of how?
If you’ve had these questions about your vibrato, it’s probably because no one ever taught you what it actually is or how to influence it.
Vibrato isn’t like height or eye color—it’s not fixed! In fact, vibrato changes in response to the way you use your breath, how your vocal cords are working, your registration choices, and the tension patterns in your body.
But most singers have never been taught how vibrato responds to these inputs, or which vocal exercises can nudge it in a healthier direction. They’ve also never learned how to measure vibrato or interpret what those measurements mean.
Without that knowledge, vibrato can feel mysterious—even when you’re singing well.
Vibrato is a vocal “vital sign”.
Pulse, blood pressure, and temperature are vital signs for the body. In the same way, vibrato is a vital sign of the voice—an objective indicator of how your technique is functioning.
When you know how to measure and interpret it, vibrato becomes one of the most useful diagnostic tools you have as a singer.
Introducing: The Vibrato Checkup
In this 2-hour seminar, you’ll learn to measure and interpret your vibrato, using free tools that capture real data. You’ll assess your vibrato’s:
Speed (rate)
Width (extent)
Regularity
Balance (intonation center)
Then, you’ll use those measurements to learn:
What each vibrato pattern means
Reasons why that pattern might be occurring
Which technical adjustments can influence it
Specific vocal exercises that tend to shift vibrato behavior
By the end, you’ll understand not only what your vibrato is doing, but why—and which practice strategies are most likely to help it stay or move in a healthy direction.
What success looks like
You’ll walk away knowing:
The parameters of a healthy vibrato—and whether your vibrato falls within them

How to keep vibrato healthy as you age and your voice evolves over time
